The Hidden Struggle of Endometriosis
Did you know that over 190 million women worldwide are affected by Endometriosis, according to the World Health Organization (WHO)?
It’s a condition many women have but so few truly understand. For most, the journey toward diagnosis is long, confusing, and emotionally exhausting. If you’ve ever been told your pain is “normal” or “just part of being a woman,” you’re not alone—and you’re not wrong for seeking answers.
At She Heals, we believe your story, symptoms, and struggles matter. We’re here to help you reconnect with your body, your intuition, and a path to natural healing through endometriosis holistic healing—an approach that addresses not just the symptoms but the root causes of your condition.
What is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis, often shortened to “endo,” is a chronic condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus.
- During your menstrual cycle, this tissue thickens, breaks down, and bleeds.
- Unlike the uterine lining, it has nowhere to exit, leading to inflammation, scar tissue, and adhesions.
- These adhesions can cause organs to bind together, worsening symptoms.
This misplaced tissue may appear on:
- Ovaries
- Fallopian tubes
- Uterus surface
- Bladder
- Intestines
- Rarely, beyond the pelvic region
Symptoms of Endometriosis
Endometriosis doesn’t look the same for everyone. Some women may experience:
- Severe, debilitating menstrual pain
- Chronic fatigue and bloating
- Digestive discomfort
- Difficulty conceiving
- A mix of silent symptoms that are often misdiagnosed
Why is Endometriosis Misdiagnosed?
Studies show that the average delay in diagnosis is 7–10 years.
Reasons for misdiagnosis:
- Symptoms mimic other conditions like IBS, pelvic inflammatory disease, or anxiety.
- Cultural normalization of menstrual pain (“periods are supposed to hurt”).
- Women often adapt to pain, dismiss symptoms, and avoid seeking timely medical care.
At She Heals, we challenge these stereotypes. Your pain is not normal if it disrupts your life.
